Picked up a 1951 Tula sks at my local Canadian Tire today. BBQ paint and a beat up stock but I just wanted a shooter for my first sks so pretty happy.

Stock went in the oven to melt out the cosmoline.

Couldn't drive the pin out on the gas tube cover so it went in to the mineral spirits with all the other parts

Stock was giving me splinters so sanded it down in the tub because winter. Started with 60 grit, then 120 and finished with 320.

Set up a make shift spray booth again because of winter and I'm in an apartment.

and the final product. Couldn't find a matte clear so it's going to have to wait a bit. Pretty happy with how it turned out for a first timer.

I'll most likely replace the stock with an Archangel because shouldering it my nose is almost touching the receiver cover. Weather permitting I'm hoping to get it out to the range next week to see how the old girl does
