Hello,I have 2 sks I love those rifles but here my problem am left handed,so that safety is hard to use and the front sling attachment is a problem also any solutions, thank you.
Sks is military so geared to right hand but shoots nice both sides, you will have to deal with the safety, I do not own a lefty rifle,,, yet! I shoot just as badly,,, right or left!

Are you set on using the original sling or are you comfortable to use a single point sling for instance with the one end secured on the barrel? As for a safety, I don't know of any Canadian distributors or manufacturers that make a left hand one. I have seen pictures of ambidextrous replacements where you have to cut a notch in the stock. If you are really serious, you'll probably have to fabricate one or two yourself or ask someone on here to make you one for a hefty ransom...
I recall a thread on here about a CGNer who modified an SKS for a buddy of his
who had a weak right arm due to infirmity. He modified the bolt so it could be operated LH.
It was a very good looking conversion. Someone post a link please.
I liked my friend's lefty sks so much that i made one for me as well a few weeks ago! Haven't made the ambi safety lever yet though. For my friend's sks it was a frustrating task, the fine fitting of the safety was pretty time consuming (the welds needed some work to reduce their size so that the safety would work properly). I want to call Sksman in the US to see if he has ambi safety levers in stock; i know he had some a few years ago.
