Howdy All. Good to see such a large SKS group. It is a fun little piece of the iron curtain ain't she. Mine is a Chinese version ser # 9 million series. Came with blade bayonet, full cleaning kit. I bought it at Lever Arms about 7 years ago for about $120 bucks. I've been shooting up my supply of crappy norinco mil surp. This stuff is dirty and not to accurate. Any better stuff out there?
 
I've tried a bunch of different brands but they all seem to be about the same. I think the Norinco stuff is a bit more "tar like", and it smells worse, but other than that I'd say they're all pretty much the same.

I've heard there was a bunch of stuff called "Cheetah" that was pretty good (south african?) but as far as I know it was only available to our southern cousins.
 
300Spartans see my post to MauserMarty regarding 8mm mil surp ammo availability. I was also told 7.62mm falls into the to hot spec?? Still don't beleive until I see the LAW
 
There are a few batches of Yugo ammo out there that are really sweet to use...

Brass case, but Berdan primed (corrosive).
They come without chargers, but I slide them onto the Czech ones I always save.

MSF in the little white boxes?
Brown lacquer cases?
If so then it is Hungarian Corrosive.

I've got a bunch of this stuff but I thought it was South African. Are you sure it's Yugo because mine even says S.A.?

Hehe I know where to get that stuff.
 
For crying out loud guys, when you quote a post that has a huge picture in it at least remove the image tags or something. It's annoying to keep scrolling past the same picture over and over only to read single line posts along the lines of "I agree."
 
Ooops. I didn't realize it was going to show the picture again. I used Preview Post because I thought it might, and I didn't want it to, but it didn't show up in the "preview" - so much for Preview Post.
