SKS Front forstock

If this has benn discussed before feel free to post the link...searched and couldn't find anything. How do I remove the small top forstock of on an SKS. I've removed the gas tube assembly and top forstock but can't figure out how to get the forstock off. There lookes to be a ground down pin, do I have to remove that?

yup , punch that out but re-use it .

The pin comes out with some persuasion. It also goes back in but only after a long string of colourful language.

Arrrg I removed mine and now I can't get the pin to go flat back in, or come back out.
