SKS gas piston - parts available?

Hi. I have access to a russian SKS with a bit of corrosion around the gas piston. AFAIK it is the only corroded area on this rifle. I haven't been involved with these rifles up to now so I am short on information. Are parts available, and who has them???

Lever arms and marstar have basically all the parts ya need for these rifles

Many SKS have a bit of corrosion in that spot, both on the gas piston and the gas tube where the piston touches it. Because the SKS is over-gassed, it
should not have much effect on operation. Just stop further corrosion and carry on!

Does it still run well? I've seen a pretty pitted gas tube cycle an sks flawlessly. Trick is to make sure there is no active rust left so it doesn't get worse.

I had a type 54 that the gas piston was so badly corroded it would not move in the gas tube ,just cleaned it up , works fine now, no need to replace it .

Thanks to all. Apparently it runs just fine, which is no surprise. I was looking for a spare so the rifle would be "pristine."

No rust anywhere else.

Mine was seized solid within 4 days after shooting chez surplus, couldn't even remove the cylinder. Brought it to the range and after few shots it started to function with no issue. Cleaned and oiled after that, no problem.

I had one in a similar situation. I put mine in a drill and spinned it against a green Scotchbrite pad and then 800 grit sandpaper. Turned it into brandnew.
