Hi everyone! Was wondering how far does the gas piston travel in to the gas tube when firing. Are you supposed to see the piston head through the bleed holes when its pushed back or does it not go back quite that far. Just wondering because my piston sorta wedges in the tube when dropped in, the piston head slides down the tube perfectly until about an inch and a half down the tube, then stops, kind of wedging in it. The tube I received was rusted but has been cleaned up. So now I would like to know if this is normal. thanx

Plus the "sort of wedging in" thing is normal. Mine has always done that (I've had it for about twenty years) and I had two others apart the other day, both in perfect condition, and they both do that.

Only afew inches "its a short stroke gas system" Your good no worries:)

correct .

aubie: the piston doesnt travel very far and you should not see the head thru the vent holes .

actually it doesnt matter how far the piston travel but rather how far the piston extension rod travel and if you were to push it you will see it travel less than an inch.

so everything is normal.
