SKS gurus - what do I have here?

Refurbs occasionally got rebarreled with non chromed barrels, but sometimes the chrome on the muzzle gets covered up by parkerizing, I see that a lot!

To check if your SKS bore is chromed, it's very easy.

From the muzzle with acetone or break free on a "K" Tips, clean a small part of the end of the barrel to clean all trace of oil.

And, with another "K" Tips, rub cold blue on this cleaned part of the barrel.

If cold blue stick on the steel, and steel turn to black, bore is not chromed.

This will not affect the accuracy.

If cold blue do not stick on the very shiny steel just like water on the back of a duck, your bore is chromed.

Hey Barnes, what kind of CCI primer did you use? I've heard of slam fires being cause by soft primers, so just curious. Are the dominions mil surp hardness?
