Y'all are ugly *jokes*, the gun is gorgeous! Looks like he patched on a fibreglass 'magazine box'. must have gotten a spare bolt & ground off the locking lugs. . . Very cool! I love it.

Appears as though he started off with a 59/66 for some reason. . . .

I am guessing he made the auxilliary magazine well because there was no other way to calculate the precise depth to strip cartridges from the magazine - once he had that he could install the magazine catch. Results in a very nice effect, kind of like a Hafdasa submachinegun.

I'd like that! I wouldn't pay $1800 for it though! In Kanada we could run it with 10 round 1911 mags!

Someone please come up with a $49.95 conversion kit to do this! I'd buy one!

Well it looks pretty straightforward - you don't need the gas system anymore, just get a .452 barrel blank, adapt it to fit the metric receiver threads.

adapt the magazine well.

short chamber it.

bolt/extractor modifications.

and a lot of fiddling around to make it work.

quite interesting really.

And a removal of an eye, thumb and 3 1/2 fingers.

Not the hardest thing to convert just a pain to get right. You have to get magazine high just right ect cheaper to just get a JR carbine...

Later Chinese models have pressed in barrels, was something they switched to in the 1970's when they were in a panic trying to arm up for a potential war with the USSR...
