SKS in the hand vs Online SKS?

Unless you are looking for a specific year or a collectible in great shape, I'd go for any SKS in reasonable shape. They are all shooters, and reliable as heck. Refurbs are a great deal, so go by price and availability and save the extra $$ for ammo.
 
Many of us got burnt on the Wanstall's SKS sale..
Not bad enough to send it back and pay the shipping and restocking fee
We got sold $150 guns for $200 advertised as $299 retail
 
It's a little bit of a crap shoot what you get when you buy online. I bought one online and it was horrible. Fortunately I had bought it from a reputable dealer and they swapped it no questions asked. I was just out the shipping costs to return it. I would say to check the return policy before purchasing.
 
Check out Westrifle if you want a nice one. Russian . the Chinese ones work fine also. you can look at photos - close up photos on Westrifles website. top of the page.
 
I’d look on the EE. Ask the seller to send you detailed pics. If the guy has a good trader rating, I’d feel comfortable purchasing one that way.
