My son's SKS is nosing the cartridge into the barrel just below the chamber on the second shot. The only difference between his and mine is the magazine follower is stiff and tight where they pinned it. Could this be causing the cartrige to be at an improper angle?

whats the best way to do this? mine is jamming every shot and it's really, really annoying..

Just release the mag where you can get at the pin and follower, and try to carefully work it lose with your hand or pliers. A quick drop of oil works for some people.

Another option is to purchase a 5/20 Tapco mag.
My Tapco mags stay in my rifles at all times. I feed the rifles with stripper clips exclusively or manually through the open action.
I only remove the mag when cleaning the rifle. Otherwise, it stays put.

This is not an SKS-D, so I am not sure if a Tapco mag will fit.
We have ground the pin on one side to stop it dragging on the side of the magazine and loosened up the pivot.
just have to shoot it to see if it worked.

There is a peice of round bar stock about 3/8 in diameter pinned to the bottom of the follower.

I think people will want a little more information.
Was it the limit pin or something else?
From what I have read on the follower limit pins, you had/have to carefully file off some material to allow the follower
to pivot freely.

How much do you have to file off that rod?

This is from another thread. I do believe the OP is also on this site as well. I am not familiar with this pin as mine is frankenpinned which I had to tweak to get it to work "properly".

We used my bench grinder to grind off enough to have clearance. This is not rocket science, once we had clearance from the magazine wall, we went to work on the pivot until it moved freely. (WD40 and working it) Result all five rounds feed without nosing into the chamber mouth.
This is an SKS and a bench grinder seemed like the right precision instrument to use.

I have the same problem and have been oiling and working it but still jams. Ill call it pole pinned lol. When you say dragging do yiu mean it was actually rubbing on the magazine or touching at the top ?
