SKS Laminate vs. Hardwood stock

Laminate are much thinner than the hardwood but a bit lighter. I like the balance and girth of the hardwood on top of its good looks. I cant stand laminate anymore, just not for me.

Laminate - stronger and better looking. SKS is fat enough that I wouldn't want it any wider.

Mine are quite slim rifles, the girth, or lack there of, is in the grip and butt. Shoulder the 2 side by side and you'll notice a big difference in the way it fills the hand and supports the cheek. I cant get a decent cheek weld on a laminate. To me it just feels undersized and underweight. Just my opinion

Thanks for the info seems laminate is the way to go.

Any suggestions on a good firearm store to grab one in or around the GTA? I saw some at the store in Peterborough just wondering if there's some stores here i haven't found yet.

Much appreciated as always

I have wavered between loving the looks of the laminate and the hardwood. I currently prefer the look of the dark Russian red and black stained hardwood stocks. Laminate, in my opinion, looks better when it is tung oil refinished.
I also believe the laminate is heavier, not lighter than the hardwood, even though it has a slimmer profile.

Le Baron's out in Mississauga just got a new batch in yesterday with the laminate stock. $188. I picked one up.

I'll be going back today for surplus ammo. 1320 rounds for $205
