after i was shooting my sks the other day i noticed that if i pushed up on the door for the magazine the reciever wiggled around in the stock... i tried to tighten the screws in the stock and this only helped somewhat...is this normal? srry for the noob question

Mine came in an ATI synthetic and it was loose. I popped it out, laid a piece of parachute cord in the stock where its molded around the front of the clip area, tight; no problem. That's what I like about these guns, easy to work on; don't have worry about ruining a pristine collectors piece

Got looking at it. I did this as a temp fix. My problem was in the front of the stock..

So I took a wheel from an rc car and chopped it up like so. I then put it in the red highlighted area...

Some are loose and some are so tight you need a hammer just to get it out lol

Am guessing there handfitted to the gun, so if its a mismatch it maybe loose.

mine was loose when taken out of the original stock and into the ati folder. I didnt think the little spring that goes above the rear part of trigger guard/group area made any difference since it was part of the stock. Made all the difference when i added the spring. Now its tight as new. I usually turn my sks's upside down to see if they are loose. It was loose, but now is good as original.
