I just got my hands on a converted sks from one of our fellow gun nuts. Pretty cool little unit.

Wondering if there shouldn't be a thread for this for all the bugs we may find.

You guys need to re read what what done here before. The rifle OR the magazine must be modified. Marcus intended for the magazine to be modified to preserve the rifle. If you modify the rifle, the changes are rather permanent, but the mag is UNTOUCHED.

What is the cost of this sks after mag well, mags, modifications etc?

Is it approaching the cost of a dedicated gun with detachable mags?

Also why modify 10 rounders when they have dedicated 5 rounders for the xcr already that you can mod instead

1. Adapter cost is ~$220 US

2. Yes

3. One would do this to get to use a ten round magazine legally. Again, if you do some modifications to the rifle, you don't need to modify the magazine.

If you watch the video below at the a 4:10 mark he shows the magazines and explains that ASC carries the modified magazine as a product. Pin it to 10 and you should be fine no? Seeing as you are getting the magazine manufactured with the modifications already made...

Thats state side.

Different rules apply. Theyre selling modified mags to save you modding the gun, IN canada you have to mod the gun for the mag or the rule is null and void and pinned to 5.

Not a prohib rifle, just a prohibited magazine. Touch the mag and you get to pin it to 5, at which point might as well run the duckbill mags.

Modified Mag ???? You cannot run ANY modified mag. You cant touch the mag PERIOD !! The only legal way is using a XCR pistol mag. ANY modification has to be done UNDER the RECIVER. Go read my build and don't deviate or you have just made a prohib rifle.

and you cant import the pre modded mags into canada. Last time I checked marcus couldnt find anyone willing to import them for him either.
