SKS mag feed issues

I picked up my first SKS back in November and it's currently having feed problems . I've put about 1,000 rounds down range since and the only problem I've had is the bullet getting jammed and not going into the barrel. The bolt seems to be just pushing it forward and not raising it into the barrel. Is this normal and can it be corrected? It happens every now and then but at least once every 150-200 rounds

I would argue that once every 150 to 200 rounds is a non-issue. Pretty hard to make a diagnosis if the problem cannot be reliably reproduced.

Like Blastattack says, its not often enough to bother with. Most likely to be ammo related though. An occasional factory round will be off.

I have an SKS with a pinned magazine follower. The cross-pin was a bit long and rubbed against the inside of the magazine body, causing the follower to hang up.
