Hey all,

I have run into a problem with one of my SKS rifles where it consistently misfires on the fifth round (feed problem). Upon closer examination, it would seem that the small tab on the pivoting piece of the mag follower is catching and not allowing proper range of movement. In fact, when examining the rifle, the same part had jammed above a tab in the mag assembly and would not allow ammo to be loaded into the SKS!

My question is has anyone experienced this fault before and is it simply a matter of heating up the small tab on the mag follower and bending it slightly to allow proper function? Or should I just start looking for a complete new mag follower?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

That is the exact problem!

So I guess the answer to my question would be to simply bend it back. Perhaps the previous owner tried one too many times to load more than five rounds in...

Thanks for the help!

Perhaps the detachable 5 rd mag would be the answer, that SKS man sells. I know its not a fix, more of replacement. Not sure if he can ship to Canada, but someone in Canada must have these. Never hurts to send him an e-mail and ask. Marstar site says there sold out.

On the website, look under parts/sks. Then look at page 3 of 3.
