After cleaning the cosmoline out of my new SKS, I tried to load it with the stripper clips. I pushed too hard and 6 rounds went in. I didn't think to much of it at the time but now the magazine does not function properly, in that once all the ammo has been removed the magazine's plate does not come up far enough to push the blocking mechanism up and the bolt will not stay open. What should I do?

Stupid 5 shot limit! I have had this happen to me a few times, the arm got so weak from work hardening that I ended up changing the mag with a replacement. Should be allowed to use the 10 shot mags.... I HATE GUN LAWS!
:puke:

use caution and some heating is a good idee, I had broke mine when I tryed to unband mine, for now I waiting a new follower from mastar.

What causes this is my pet peeve about the Norinco mags, namely the blocking column is too far forward, allowing the follower arm to be bent out of shape.

I really really wish there was a source of mags with the blocker far away from where the pivot and spring is, to stop this problem from happening.

matou, will marstar assemble parts #31-35 into a standard mag and assemble it for us?

I found Lever Arms sells magazine assemblies for $25. I called them up and they said it is just like the magazine that comes on a non-D SKS model (pivot 5/10).

So I will put in an order for two of them, see how they work out. I know how to make a blocker at the rear of the mag to stop the pivot from bending, so I will whip that up too and post pics at the end if I remember this thread. :)

Now all I need is for marstar to get more scout scope mounts in!
