So the pin that restricts my SKS magazine to 5 rounds has broken off during some rigorous cleaning. I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction of getting it repinned in the Lower Mainland, BC. I’ve tried calling the local gunshops but they’ve said they can’t do it. To be specific it was the pin on the inside of the magazine base that was stopping the follower from going all the way to the bottom. Any ideas or possible home remedies?

I'd take the magazine off the rifle and seperate all the parts.. would suck to have something happen and the cops find a prohibited device in your possession. I'm in the same boat bought a used sks and the guy never told me he cut the rivit outta the mag and I noticed once I got home pissed me off. So I removed it and stuck in a spare factory mag I had but I still want to fix this one as it is # match to the rifle.

This happened to me. I removed the mag from the rifle and ordered a new one from (I think) west rifle asking for the ones that have the really big pin that is attached to the bottom of the mag.

No more problems

It would be nice to find someone who can repair or redo the pins (as mine is all matching) my pin is still there but was installed poorly so that when using stripper clips it allows a 6th to strip off but not seat in the mag it just floats there waiting to cause issues for me.

Mine does that too. I just put 5 rounds on the stripper clips

JB Weld Epoxy and a little ingenuity ill fix most anything I've encountered;

It's even a great bedding compound for your rifle. Hard, strong, impervious to almost everything.

Not in the same province but had the same problem. My local gunsmith said he takes jobs like that to his local welder to do. It came back looking fine and only cost$10. Check with a reliable local welder or ask the gunshops who does their welding. It can and has been done so hopefully they don't shoot you a line of b$.
