SKS magazine plug question

I just baught a Russian SKS that has a round stopper in the magazine reducing it to 5 shots. Any way to remove this stopper / plug without damaging the magazine?

You can remove it, but it wil leave a hole in the mag, and then we'll all hear on the news how another illegal AK47 assault rifle and deadly machine gun bullets were seized by the RCMP.
