Hey guys~thinking I'd like to try one on my '54 Russian. Not worried abut the bayonet function..I'll leave 'er folded. I've done some reading/YouTubing...just wondering what CGNers have used, like/dislike, where to get in Canada, etc.

Thanks!

To each their own. I like teching out some milsurps and others I keep pure.

Not sure why people get bent out of shape over people enjoying their personal property.

Likewise. Mine is a Russian re-furb, $229. Hardly the Holy Grail of military surplus! lol A brake might actually improve the shooting experience a bit. Not that it's bad now.

Choate Machine & Tool SKS Recoil Compensator - I ordered mine from Wolverine for $37 CDN. It blends in pretty good and looks natural to the rifle. Currently not installed though.

I bought one of the cheapy brakes, but haven't shot it. Think it was like $15 at the time.

The NCstar pin on short brake that Hical sells (pictured above) worked great on my SKS! I did eventually switch it out for a threaded brake once I got my SKS barrel threaded 14x1LH.....

gave the pin on brake to a friend, which to this day keeps it on his SKS.

Hey
here is my sks in a tapco stock and I had shortened the barrel only by 1" then threaded it and installed muzzle brake

not the best picture but last time I took it up to borden to shoot it , it worked perfectly and was hitting paper at 100m.

I have the witt machined bolt on from hical...its a well made machined piece, however i had to do a bit of tweeking to get it on,in order to get the machine screw behind the sight to line up i had to use small round file on the sight, which isnt a big deal.(then blued to prevent rust)everything i have added needs a bit of tweeking but thats a part of it i guess.Overall i am a happy with it.Its louder for sure it barks like a dog and it looks great, a bit pricey but thats the price for quality these arent stamped out of some chinese factory. To each to his own!:canadaFlag:
