Anyone with experience with SKS muzzle brakes? Bolt ons? Thread ons? There are so many options, what has performed well for you? Or don't even bother with them? Any insight is appreciated. Post your pics as well as opinions. Thanks

I started out with a NcStar pin on shorty slot brake. It was easy to install, non permanent and surprisingly reduced the guns muzzle jump by a decent amount. The Matador Arms pin on Hammerhead brake is similar in design, but waaaay more aggressive. It probably completely reduces the guns muzzle jump.
Years later paid Hical.ca to thread my SKS for $69... they did a decent job, threaded M14x1mm LH. Which is the thread used on most AK's. This allowed me to use any brake produce for an AK. The brake is indexed in place with a 14mm crush washer purchased from Colonel Mustard.
Do u need a muzzle device on your SKS ?? Well that depends on your particular wants and needs.
Just remember that the more aggressive the muzzle device looks, the more likely it will reduce recoil and muzzle jump, but will also increase the concussion and report of rifle.
Thanks for the info Murray 3-D. On the fence over threading the barrel or getting a cheap bolt on to try out. Buddy has all proper tools to thread but also like the idea of not altering permanently.
