SKS Optic Question

Hello there,

I have purchased an SKS mount from Marstar...I decided to go with a mount which replaced the rear sight on the SKS.

Now I am trying to decide whether I should go with a red dot sight or a small scope which would attach to the weaver style mount on my SKS. Price is a factor, I would like to try and keep the price of the optics to under $250...since I already dropped $120 on the mount.
Does anyone have any recommendations of inexpensive but not terrible red dot or small scopes?

Here are two quick pictures to give an idea of how the two types of optics mount to the scout scope mount...notice the scope is small (possibly a pistol scope?)

Go red dot.

I'd go the way of the Vortex SPARC, or Vortex Strikefire

Get it from One shot tactical.

The strikefire is a good fit on that rail($175). Red dot or scope is up to you, but a pistol scope may have too much eye relief, leaving just long eye relief scopes from mostly the chinese mfrs. Good name brand scout scopes are pricey.

leupold scout scope in optics exchange, $250 I believe, I have one and like it, also burris fast fire is a nice option,

So I am in the same position right now,I have the sks and scout scope mount (made the most sense to me) now what optics to get.
Price is important-this cheap gun is getting expensive quickly.
What did you end up going with and how do you feel about it now?
