Ok im still fairly new to the gun world. Id love to get some recomendations here.

i will be getting sks reciever housing picatinny for my sks. Im looking for an optic that DOES NOT require batteries, but has a nice open sight picture like a red dot. I only need 2-4x mag.

I like how reliable the sks and I dont want to have batteries fail on me and ruin my day.

preferably under 200. Any ideas ?

If you don't want batteries you are looking at a scope as far as I know.
I have a fixed 4x fixed BSA. It was cheap $60 + tax including reciever mount and rings.

Definitely is not as fast as a red dot.

A word of caution though. The receiver mounted rail was a real pain . It required a lot of work to get it to the point that I was satisfied with the fit.
Some fit loosely some too tight. It will require some filling of the front "fork" at a minimum. I ended up doing a lot of filing, grinding, welding on material then filing it again. It now fits so tightly that to remove the receiver I now require a mallet to knock out the receiver pin. It is a pain but now I am able to remove the receiver with the scope attached and re-install it without any noticeable change in the scope's zero :)
