just got from the range and the sks has a prob, i get one shot off and the second shot wont shoot, right after i shoot it i noticed the back end of the op rod protrudes out right above the throat where round goes in. i have to tap it back in each time i shoot it and i only get one shot and then i have to tap it back in for another shot. should i get a new piston and spring? anyone else have this problem? when the piston pokes out i guess it does let the firing pin make full contact and all i get is a click and i hear people behind watching and chuckling

op rod

no i just it apart and there doesnt seem to anything wrong with the op rod or spring, maybe i can run a brush thru the hole where the op rod and spring sit. i looked for burrs and didnt see any and the op rod seems to be straight

What about giving a little more clearance for the op rod to slide back and forth? Maybe the hole or rod are a little off spec.

Knee bone connected to the,,,

How bout the gas tube and piston that pushes on the smaller one .It gets most of the crud and I find it carbons up a lot ,,check the tube and maybe brush it out with a nylon brush and cleaner ,dy it and do the same with the gas tube piston then, if anything use just a damp ( not wet) oiled cloth to stop rust!
