I will admit its been awhile since I've been on cgn. Times are tough and this whole C21 #### has renewed my interest to acquire some guns to enjoy while I can. Also renewed Family membership to CCFR. I recall buying SKS for 180-max 280. I guess these new laws are bringing prices up or has it been this way for awhile. I got my Mosin Nagant for 200$ years back. Came with a Composite stock on the side lol. Just getting a feel for the community again. Appreciate the input.

I think the only way to really find anything close to those prices is shopping around locally. Ain't no way somebody is going to see them all listed for $450+ on the EE and list theirs for much less. I just picked up a russian with a tapco stock and 200 rounds 50+ stripper clips for $350. But that was local.

I always wanted to buy an SKS and I probably should have done it before the OIC :/ My local shop has a Simonov SKS with a laminate stock for about $530 after tax, been thinking about just biting the bullet and getting it, I can't imagine that SKS prices will be going down

You need to get an "new" unfired sks from a store or the EE, I would NOT buy a used one, too much cheap corrosive ammo around.

Ya, I'd much rather buy a "new" SKS from EE with legit photos instead of taking a chance on an online shop with the standard stock photos. I'm currently waiting for my approval to access EE, looking forward to seeing what's available.

They were made to shoot this ammo. The only thing there is too much is owners too lazy to take the extra 10 minutes it takes to clean properly.

OP: look around locally, I was able to locate some for below 300$ Up to before Christmas in local gun shops for some CGNer. Forget about the big stores and EE, go for the small hunting shops in small town and you’ll be surprised about what you can find and for prices that would cause someone to create another EE rant thread :p

The SKS is a great rifle, they were only cheap because they were imported by hundreds of thousands for next to nothing.
Cheap ammo was plentiful as well/

Now the imports have stopped, the marked is trying up and next year they will be around $800.00.

I’m told that the latest dealer price from north Sylvia is $415 for a sks these days. So I recommend buying one if you find it below $400 since the price continues to climb.

They are a good rifle. How times change; 3 years ago, it was thread after thread of how bad SKS rifles were, now everyone wants one. LOL. Glad I got a nice one for $180.00 LOL.

A few years ago Kar98 RC were $350 and you could buy them by the crate. Today they are $1500 but no one is crying, its supply and demand.

Stop complaining about the SKS, this discussion is just sour grapes from people who don't have one. Grow a set of balls and stop whining.

:agree:

A crate of SKS has never been a hotter commodity in Canada. This is when the hoarders laugh. Everyone knows the rifle is"worth" well above, even the current cost, relatively speaking. If you're here now, it ain't to late. Stack em deep lol.
