So i'm just getting ready for a range outing and I notice this little "hole" in part of the gas tube. I've only had this bad-boy out once and it functioned well enough. I cant tell if this is a fresh break hole or not, and i dont recall noticing it before- it may have come with it.

I'm wondering if this is still in shootable condition till i get a new gas tube? There seems to be a small gas hole (this one looks like its a factory feature) just further up the tube, so would this one be redundant?

any thoughts appreciated, thanks

Has no effect whatsoever on function or reliability. Half of my SKS carbines are like that. By the time the gas reaches that point in the gas cylinder, the action is long past the unlocking phase. Notice there are two small escape/bleed holes further up the cylinder to remove excess pressure.

Ignore it.
