ok so i have a question about the SKS's. which ones can accept the detachable tapco mags or can they all? ive tried to look around and find out on my own but theres a lot of reading and i have had no luck. thnx.

They all can take the Tapco mags, except for the Norinco SKS-D which take AK mags. In my mind there is no point in using detachable mags in an SKS. It is not, and will never be an AK.

Friend, why even waste th time and hard-earned money?

The SKS reloads faster with Chargers (which you likely call "stripper clips") than you can possibly change mags.

Legal magazine capacity in Canada is 5 rounds for these rifles, being that FREE Canadians cannot be trusted with a 10-round magazine (which the SKS was designed with) on a 100-yard rifle.

Save your bucks, pile them up and get yourself a long-range rifle for your next purchase. The Swedish Mausers have little in the way of nasty recoil and they can be handloaded to ring the gong from the 500-yard line any time you like.

Have fun!

Some of the earlier russian sks's won't fit them well at first and you may need to file off some material near the duckbill to make it fit. If you email tapco they will send you pictures of what may need to be filed down if it doesn't fit.

The tapco mags are garbage... dont waste your time. I learned like most everyone else does, the sks is best the way it was built. The sks-d takes a mag. But if I've read correctly, Its one of the 'cheapest' built norincos.
