SKS Question

Not, to be quick with you but you obviously don't own any gun... as any non-pistol mag in a semi-auto rifle is restricted to 5 so you can have a 10 round pinned to 5, and 25 pinned to 5 or even a 1000000 round drum pinned to 5, what ever it looks like is up to you but legally it can only hold 5 rounds.
 
its illegal to have anymore rounds in a clip for an sks. 5 plus one in the chamber is the limit regardless of the mag size, ie 5/10, 5/20, 5/30 round mags.

lol i am starting to think you dont have a gun license either...

Sure I do, But I am new and figured a message board dedicated to fire arms would be a good place to ask a question. Did not mean to offend!

I dont have an SKS but I am very interest in them and want to learn more before I put my cash down on one.

we are not trying to be mean , we are just having a laugh at your expense. it happens all the time here. seriously good question though and you are right in asking us. it is a place were fellow gun nutz help other gun nutz. dont be discourage to ask any question is the future. everyone is here to help, some times they laugh at you and some times we laugh with you . good hunting on that sks they are sweet

Oh,no offence taken and none intended, but id suggest maybe reading up on the other regulations there are a lot that if not followed can get you in hot water.
 
Yeah, I just remembered from my PAL course the only semi that can have a larger clip is a .22

What brought this question about was I saw an SKS for sale advertised with a 25 round clip, But didn't say anything about the clip being pinned and thought maybe I was missing something.

even if the advertisement does not state the mag is pinned , one has to assume it is.

yes, we dont call a mag a clip.

also 25 rd mag isnt common, its usually 5, 10, 20 or 30.
 
Lee Enfield 10-rounds in Mag.

I believe the LE is the only rifle allowed to have a 10-round magazine, and its commonly fed by stripper clips. :p

Of course its older than lotsa SKSs, but I hear they jam less often than "25-round" mags :D
