SKS question

Hi guys just need some advice. I recently bought an SKS and am going to put it in a tapco intrafuse stock. Any advice on how to get the old handguard off? And any of you that have changed stocks if you have any tips for me feel free to share. Thanks. Jesse

Theres a pin you have to remove on the top wood assembly to take it apart. Its at the front and hard to see but not so easy to remove sometimes.. best of luck with youre SKS...

I had to use a hammer, punch, file and drill to get mine out. It took 30 minutes.

After failing to hammer it through, I hammered it enough to file the other side, then bashed it through the other way and filed that end off.... once the hand guard was off I drilled the pin out of the gas tube.

I replaced the pin with a 5/32 roll pin. I hear brass nails work well too.
