Ok folks so I am trying to find some information out for a friend. I did not want to give him a answer because I do not know the regs for stripper clips. Anyways my buddy has a sks and just got 10 rd stripper clips. His question was can he use them with the full 10 Rds or only 5 like if he used the mag. I know his mags must be pinned but he just wants to know about the clips.
Thank you in advance and please be nice with your replys. As I said I'm not sure so that's why I'm asking for help

The clips aren't magazines and cannot be fired from one. They only assist in loading the rifle. A ten round clip he can use twice to load his mag.

Stripper clips are not magazines so the capacity limits do not apply. Think of a stripper clip as just a storage device since it must be removed form the rifle before the rifle can be fired. Some people actually load 5 cartridges onto the stripper clips then wrap electrical tape around the rest of the clip to stop the cartridges from sliding back and forth. This can make it simpler for loading a pinned 5 round magazine with clip designed for 10.

or they load 6.. 5 for the mag and 1 for the chamber ;)
