I was at Canadian Tire today going through the Russian SKS', the guy at the counter was super helpful, and offered to let me check several of them still in boxes. I noticed that a fair number of them had the rear sight... I guess "canted" would be the right word? Very, very slightly rotated in one direction. The sight picture looked fine to me when shouldered, but when I held the rifle at arms length, muzzle pointed away from me I noticed it.
I admit, I'm pretty picky, and most people probably would not have noticed or cared, but it annoys when stuff is misaligned, etc. Is this normal for the rear sight on an SKS? Are my expectations for a 70 year old refurbished, utilitarian battle rifle having all it's parts in satisfactory alignment unrealistic? Lol. I feel like I just answered my own question.... but I have no idea if the very slight cant/misaligment would have any effect on accuracy?
Thanks
