Hey CGN'ers... Anyone have any idea where someone could purchase a SKS recevier cover with weaver rail on top for scope mounting. before you all start saying they don't work, fact is i've seen it in action @ the range and it works great; it's all in how close you adjust the tolerances yourself. He bought his SKS used like that so he didn't have any idea where it came from. Now back to my info mooching... I saw on youtube a UTG part no. T642 that's identical to one that the guy had on his that i'd love to get. I don't want the one with the hold down screws as i will not be marring the finish on my SKS.. Fitment is something i couldn't give 2 f*cks about as I will either TIG metal to the cover and fine tune it or remove material from it as received to make it a machine fit with zero play. Some retailers are asking $30 to $50 for them and that's just insane, when the yankees are getting them for $18 on Amazon... Here's a link to the one i'm looking for if you have time to take a peek.http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=mount&level1=SKS&level2=Receiver_Mount&itemno=MNT-T642&status=&mtrack=3m2 Thanks folks for any info you may have as to a reasonably priced unit like this. :)

Well hello Mr. smarty pants lol and fellow CGN'er.. I am quite aware of it, I explained it in my post! I can make it work with some time and some tooling. That's why i want cheap as dirt because i plan on butchering it to make it work. :p

Cool... so the side rails on that are just for clamping right? If so, i'd just be cutting them off anyways and TIGing it up with material to grind down little by little to make it solid without that gobbly goop.

The little brackets with the set screws, are meant to clamp the mount down on the sides of the reciever yes.

The rails themselves on the side or the actual mount I have no idea what they could be used for, and thats why they are gone. Absolutely useless.

I have to double check I still have it, and what it comes with so if you want it PM me.

Cheers
M
