Hello could anyone tell me the benefits of installing the buffer? I don't have one and would be interested to hear what the difference is with and without one. The recoil and clang of the bolt doesn't seem to be much of a problem. I suppose it might reduce wandering on a cover mount scope. Thanks Pete

Never used one, never had a problem with my two SKS's with scopes. I have more "wander with ammo"

Anyone evre wear out an SKS? :?

like everyone has said, it reduces the metal on metal contact when the sks recoils. Installing the buffer ''supposedly'' extends the life of the gun but it does definately quiet down the action. I dont know if it will affect your scope though....

Buffer

I have shot my SKS with and without a buffer .I cant tell the differance . I keep one in just because the metal parts have an easer time when you pull the trigger .
