when i shoot at my target and the shot lands low and to the left, do i adjust my red dot high up and to the right or do i move my red dot to where the shot is landing? its driving me crazy because each time i go to range i get a different opinion from someone. if my shot is going too low do i lower my red dot sight or raise it?

set up on a bench use a sight vice and shoot a 3 shot grouping then adjust the red dot to the center of your grouping.

There are two different styles to sight in out there:
a) vice or secure rifle otherwise so it can't move...shoot a 5 shot group at a target, then move crosshairs or dot where the holes are.
b) (as a) is a pretty seldom occacion...) shoot over a solid rest like a sandbag and then adjust to the group as stated on your type of sight...UP means the holes go up, and arrow left means the grouping moves left...so if you`re shooting low and left,go up and right on the dials.
If they`re not marked, wich I doubt...dot hight: (acts like a rear sight)...the higher the dot the higher the impact, Dot farter to left shoots farther to left

Clear as mud ;)

Should only take a few adjustments, and a few bullets to solve that question while at the range.

Mine shot to the left, so I adjusted mine to the right.

Keep in mind you are only adjusting ONE sight dot and not having to line up front post with rear wedge.

Lol you said "farter" made me laugh at this time of the evening.

thats why i like to just shoot a group and then while still aiming at where you were aiming to get the grouping make sure the rifle doesn't move (sight vice) and then adjust the red dot till it is in the middle of the grouping a grouping of 3 is fine it will get you close. sight in at 25 yards and you should be close to right on at 200 yards and 3 inches high at 100 depending on the height of your sight. this technique is idiot proof as it doesn't matter if your sights are marked or not all you are doing is moving the dot to where you want it.
