It was a hell of a windy day at the range today!! First I shot the 22 cal norinco woodsman....Exellent!! I set up some orange square tagets " 2inches wide &4inches tall.Set up at 25 yards. I was actually hitting afew while I was bobbing around from the wind. I am amazed I got ANY !! I found I had to aim at the bottom of them at that distance...so, that means it should be dead on at 50 yards. I cant believe how dam acurate this little gun is. THE RUGER 357....Dead on!! I am so happy with it now.I shot the targets at the same distance as the .22 THE CHANGES I made- lighter loads "near the bottom of the scale" FMJ 158grain...my gun hates flat nose led !! I also set the sites with THREAD  Yeas indeed, its never let me down. Tape a peice of thread in the middle of the front site and bring it back to the middle of the hammer and set the sites so the string is EXACTLY in the middle of the thread.THE SKS russian ,new never fired, 1954. Well.... I was trying to shoot 300 yards open site " target size- 2feet by 1 foot-metal pigs".The wind was so strong that I bench rested the sks. I was kida all over the place.:( What number should the rear site be sitting on?? I tried #3 but I was shooting 2 feet above the tagets. I had no spotter with me either. The wind was blowing sand and debree , my eyes were watering..crap. Couldnt shoot s**t with it today. Is 300 yards iron site to far to be that acurate?? Another problem is my eye site :( This getting older SUCKS!! I use to be able to shoot 400 yards iron site with my old 303. Not blaming the gun becase the conditions were so poor :) I will try again tommorow, setting up a target at 100 yards and go from there.
