Hey
just wanted to ask as I tried to google it and no results...or didn't read enough
when I slide my safety switch it doesn't make a sound and I watched some youtube vids and swear I hear a clicking sound...should it?
thanks
Glenn

Some are stiffer than others. The more free moving ones click when they hit the trigger guard, that's all.

ok
I haven't had any problems but just wanted to be sure
was thinking of ordering some springs next few months and saw a new safety spring aswell may get it just incase.
thanks
Glenn

#### the action and put the safety on, pull the trigger as hard as you can. If the hammer doesn't drop then it's good to go!
Most of the ones I owned over the years didn't spring into place when the safety was applied.

It's a physical safety that simply blocks the trigger from being moved rearward, there is no internal mechanical movement to the SKS safety.

Also if it's a 1949-1950 safety it isn't even spring loaded. Just friction.

My spring loaded ones make kinda a click.

Any refurb SKS can have a trigger group without the safety spring. I have seen numerous ones later dated than 1950 that were refurbished using earlier trigger groups without the safety spring but serialed to match the gun.

The trigger safety is only part one of the test, the second is to #### the bolt while the trigger is held in the pulled position. THe hammer should not fall until the trigger is released then pressed again.

I do this safety test with every semi and every time I clean it and take it out again.

Hey
If I remember correctly its a russian 1952...and I just did the safety test you mentioned and it did what you said .
Thanks Hical I'm on you site often looking at parts and will be making a list of things to order so as to have only one order.
springs, muzzle brake and such taking my time as not to forget something.
Glenn.
