Just got my Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot mounted onto my Russian SKS using the BC Tactical Scout mount. Tried in the past to mount using a receiver cover style mount and didnt even bother when I saw how unstable it was. It took a few extra minutes with the dremel tool to remove some material from the front end of the mount to get a good fit-up. Seems like a great product, solid as a rock.

My guess would be a rather large difference in dimensions between models...I had to remove approx 3/64" of material from the front end of the mount. That left a small amount of mis-alignment with the pin hole...making for a nice tight fit. Did mine with a Dremel tool and trail and error baby steps to make sure I didn't take too much off.

I used a swiss army knife file, tight fitted mine also. The difference in the models isn't what you would think especially for the sight part, they are pretty consistent, but maybe someone else who installed the same mount can chime in and let us know if he had to do the same or it fit right the way it's supposed to.

LoL!!!
Is that a real statement or ment to be a :nest:?

Every country that produced this rifle and even between the year's or factories made them a little different. Meening what will work for 1 rifle might require fitting on another.
The real question should be...
How much more fun it is to shoot this rifle knowing that you don't have to worry about iron sight's?
Back when we used to do gong shoot's at 200 meter's the avearge was between 2 to 3 rounds out of 5. With any optic this rifle went straight up to 4 or 5 out of 5.
Come to think about it we should do another gong shoot again.

My mount fit fine. It was a little snug, but nothing requiring any sort of material removal.

Satain, I couldn't agree more. It is so much more consistent and enjoyable to shoot.

I got the mount from Wanstall's online. I've had that scope sitting around for awhile...honestly can't remember where from....like previous poster said, you can find it anywhere. Should be getting out to blast a couple hundred rounds in the next few days to try it out. It took a little research to find the BC Tactical mount, but when I found it I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.
