SKS ScoutScope review

Looks like a great idea and product. Scoping an SKS is interesting but probably will not help much. I like the dot scopes for sure.

Nice having the backup open sights available if the batteries go dead. I guess you could always have a LER scope on QD rings if that was needed.

Will have to see...

I just had my sks out to the range today and tried out the scout scope mount with an aimpoint replica on it. Definatly the best setup i have ever used. The only part that that ended the day early was a few of the scope mount screws loosened that hold the mount tight to the reiever. I believe that was 99% user error with not putting locktight on the mounting screws. By the way it only got loose after about 400 rounds. I will try and post pics of my setup later.

I read somewhere that the scout mount needs to be removed to gain access the the gas system for cleaning, is this true ? Other then that it appears to be a really good system.

here are a few of the pics of my sks with the scout scope mount. IShootHostages is right about having to remove the mount to get to the gas system but it is much easier then it sounds. There are 4 set screws that hold the rail and sight to the mount that only have to be loosened about half a turn each then everything comes off tho access the gas system.

Icedshot,
So, seems you like this system. Do you like it so much that you would do it again? I'm thinking of getting one too.Thanks.

Marstar carrys the mount and has red dots aswell, i'm thinking on this for myself and its good to see others liking it and saying its working out for them.

Icedshot, neat to see a SKS D in the T6 stock.
