sks shell deflector

looking for recomendations for a non gunsmith, non hole tapping shell deflector. what are my options for one? im mounting a scope on my sks and the scope sits to far forward. hate to see a vortex scope get beat to death with shell casings.

On post 60 bottom of this page, a member here has done a mod u can do yourself that will eliminate the shell deflector, I havent used this but there are other that say it does work.

Before doing any modification, shoot with your sks to be sure that a shell will hit your scope. Me, I have a posp scope on mine and after 2 crates of ammo none hited my scope.
