I bought a Russian SKS from Westrifle in June. Before I knew it, the rifle was at the door. Opened the box, and WOW! What a nice 60 year military rifle (51 Tula). Built like a tank, all numbers match, and the stock was flawless. After close inspection with a few friends, we came to the conclusion that "we don't think this gun was ever fired". OK, so now I have safe queen. Ordered another from Westrifle two weeks later. Guess what! I have 2 safe queens. LOL.
SKS - Should have gotten one ages ago. EVERYONE MUST BUY!!

The SKS is in my opinion the best all around rifle cost to value ratio in this country currently.
It's a combat proven, efficient, incredibly reliable design.
It shoots the most common caliber on the planet. Also extremely cheap price wise.
It's not the most accurate rifle, it's not the most ergonomic. But it's accurate enough and it always works, every time, summer or winter, with any type of 7.62x39.
If things went South in a hurry and I could only carry one from the safe, it would be my 54 Tula without hesitation
