Hey
well went out to borden yesterday and tested out my new Wartak Tactical SKS Rail System and I have to say its amazing...my casings don't fly all over the place and cleaning was so easy..kinda..
I give it a 10/10
I had a cheapo red dot and magpul backup sights now here's my question for ya .
I don't want to go too expensive and maybe going to barrie today so may drop into cabelas so what would your ideas be for a new sight/red dot/scope. my front sight sits on the tapco rail system and is too low compaired to the wartak system for the rear magpul sight and isn't stable on on that rail it does wobble alittle and yesterday I couldn't see the red dot outside for some reason so I've pulled that thing off. with the backup sights I couldn't hit the target at 100yard at all...another guy beside be thought the windage needed to go far left and did make the bullet impacts closer to target but still not on paper...ideas ? should I put front sight on wartak rail aswell to make it same hight but also makes it way closer to rear sight and if so red dot/scope combo deal...again I'm cheap and don't want to spend too much...thanks
pics of your set up with wartak if you got them.
Glenn.

Well
back from some shopping with the wife and I ended up picking up a Barska 4x28 IR Electro Sight
I installed it on the mound and have to say not bad..took it outside and can actually see the sight in daylight even with it not turned on.
bore sighted it in and will take it out and try it later.

I had a 4-12x40mm Nikon Prostaff on my SKS for the longest while... it was a great setup. I cant speak about Barska's quality, but I wouldnt go too cheap on an optic just because its a 200 dollar SKS. Your basically mounting a scope on a semi auto 30-30win, ive seen alot of guys cheap out on optics for their SKS, and then end up buying a more expensive optic down the road cus the cheap one broke.

anyways, best of luck with your setup! the Wartak is a solid rail.

hey
thanks for the info
I don't get to shoot often but it's my first optic of its type so it will be interesting if I can hit paper with it...won't be the optic's fault ..lol
I'm so glad I bought the wartak rail great for picking up brass in one area now.

I have tortured a holosun red dot from canadian tire and wow i like it better than my sparc and it was cheaper and holds 0 no problem my sugestion is if your running optics on the sks get the buffers for the bolt and carrier it will save the like of the gun and optic
