Well I just got back from range with Chinese n Russian sks's. At 25 yards, best group of day was 7/8 shots in 1 1/2 in red with a flyer opening up group to 2 inch for all 8 shots( had a few extra shells) for Chinese sks. At 100 yards best group of the day was 4/5 in 2 1/2 inches with flyer opening up to 3 1/2 inches. Moving to Russian , best group of day at 25 yards was 4/5 in an inch with flyer opening to 1 3/8 inches. At 100 yards, Russian put 5 shots in 3 1/4 inches. Both guns are stock, but lightened triggers on both done by myself, ( polished Sears . Guns were both shot off bags. Targets were Allen with 8 inch round green bull with centre red bull inside measures 2 inch. What do you think of this accuracy? Can I squeeze a little more? My own opinion is I think that's all I can reasonably get from a military gun with irons. All opinions and comments are welcomed ahead of time. Is trying to make these guns sub 3 moa unrealistic? Or should I be content with 3-4 moa. Advice n opinions please.

With the chrome lined barrels, that's about the best you can hope for.
I got a 1950 that prints around 2 inches at 100 yards.
With better optics and good sandbags, it might do better.
The best thing you can do is to get rid of any fore and aft rattle between the action and the stock.
That's usually the biggest accuracy killer right there.

Pretty much the same as I get with my Russians. I am totally happy with the accuracy, its all I need in an SKS.

Any suggestions on where and how to bed? Mine slides back and forth about 1/16.

Take a look at the back of the receiver, where the vertical pillar holds the rear trigger housing catch.
It butts up against the rear face of the wood stock cavity. That's where I put my shim.
Get a regular Triton or equivalent stainless hose clamp and cut a length of the solid band just a bit shorter than the height of that rear face on the wood stock cavity.
It tucks in there pretty good and usually stays in place on its own. Flip it so the ends bow into the woodwork.
Posture, hold, breathe, squeeze.

I just use cigarette pack cardboard cut to fit and soak in oil then place in the stock, works good haven't worn it out yet. I like the jubilee/hose clamp idea.
Be safe

3~4 moa is what you would get from surplus ammo. You should be able to shrink the group to 2~3 moa with a good copy of the SKS and hand loading.

Pull open a few surplus rounds and weight the projectile, you'd be shocked. I've seen the projectile weight anywhere from 120.x gr to 124.x gr. For comparison reference, the weight variation on Hornady V-Max projectiles is about 0.6 grain, and on the Hornady ELD match is about 0.3 grain.

I have found the Chinese corrosive surplus to be quite consistent.
It's groupings are comparable to Barnaul HP and FMJ, with Winchester FMJ white box at least 30 percent better.

iron sight 3moa is about limit.
With scope? SKS is difinite a 2moa rifle. Mine can do it all day long. I tried 3 mounts, 3 scopes, bedding twice. More than 5 kinds of ammo.
Surplus ammo is alway gamble, some good, some bad, always a flier.
Barnaul Hp is a FGMM for Russian rifle. I know a guy who shoot a submoa with Barnaul and cz rifle.
