Hey Guys, I have to pick your collective brains here, cuz I'm now lost. I have a Norc SKS, had it about 1 yr. Never really fired it all that much. Now that I am, I get a stoppage every second round, no matter if I load it all up or load single round or just two. Weird.
Anyways, the stoppage is that the fired caseing is left on the bolt and re-chambers. I have to take a rubber mallet to knock the bolt back to work the cycle. Once the empty caseing is removed the next round loads and fires okay. Chambers the third round, fires, and then prompting loads the emplty caseing again.
Huh?
I have tried replacing the rtn spring, doing a incremental cut on the rtn spring to the point now the replacement spring is 1" shorter than the orginal. Swapped out the extractor for a new one, and also swapped out the gas piston spring for ####s and giggles.
Still, no change. What could be the problem? It works for every second round and then fails on the next. I am lost now, because this fault does not make sense.
Anybody have any ideas?
