What am I missing? People actually pay money for these??? Please 'splain. I trash these as they just take up space and there's more in the the next crate I open. Please enlighten me, thanks!

People did the same thing with .303 and enblocs, and look how much they cost now. Most ammo doesn't come with them anymore. So I'm keeping mine.

I like storing my non-corrosive ammo on them. It's easy to just grab a few clips and hit the range. It also makes for a tidy shooting bench with out loose rounds and empty boxes laying around.

People do buy them... But you have to be a fool to pay $1 a peice plus shipping for them. And guys who sell them for that much a just plain greedy.

Currently the only x39 ammo ive encountered that comes on clips is the Czech lacquered steel surplus.
I have a few thousand rounds of the stuff, but I definitely keep the clips because I have thousands of more rounds like Chinese and Romanian that don't have clips.

I keep them for the same reason EL34/6l6 does.
I also give to friends and some range members as well.
I made a dozen or so 5 round half length clips for range use.

You know, it's funny. A few yrs back almost everybody called the stripper clips junk, and they'd say "I just toss 'em on the ground or throw 'em in the garbage." I'm sure glad I had the sense to keep the ones that came on my ammo, I sure wouldn't pay a buck for a stripper clip for .39 ammo, I'd make 'em for cheaper.

I keep all the ones I find when cleaning up other peoples shi+ they leave behind. got 30 or so now, so wouldn't but, but would if I hadn't found them. Unless you buy Czech, you don't get them

I have about 1,000 in a bag soaking in oil.
20 years back 7.62x51 NATO 5 rnd clips were being thrown on the ground and in scrap bins, now they go for almost $1 a pop.
We'll see what they're worth 10 years from now.
If nothing then I'll scrap them, it's a cheap initial investment for possible future return my friend ;)

If your shooting a stock SKS, stripper clips just work so well! I've bought two cases of the Czech stuff mainly for the stripper clips. Turns out the amo itself is decent too. Like others mentioned, I have lots of Chinese and Romainian ammo that I load up on strippers before every range visit. They make the SKS so much fun to shoot. Non stop action.

Those who toss them are crazy! If I couldn't afford cases of ammo on stripper clips or didn't have access to the Czech stuff, I'd still pay for them. In fact I bought some from SKneub here on CGN when I bought my first SKS and case of Chinese ammo.

;) :)

I sold all mine for $0.10 a piece. Sometimes the people paid more for shipping than they did for the clips. I kind of regret selling all of them now. Guess I'll have to buy more Czech surplus.
