SKS tapco stock bedding - will epoxy stick to it?

I have an SKS in tapco stock. IMO the fitting is pretty poor.

There's a fair bit of movement between receiver and the stock and group is really ugly at 100yd. I shimmed the back of the stock where it meets the receiver with several cleaning patches soaked in oil. This removed the play considerably, and accuracy tightened to about 2~3 moa, similar to my other unmolested SKS's.

However the problem is I get zero shift every 4~5 range trips due to the shim moved inside the stock (I think). I'm now considering to bed the tapco stock to take the play out completely. Has anyone here tried bedding tapco stocks? I'm mainly concerned about if epoxy will stick to the plastic stock. I plan to use jb weld, and use dremel to roughen up the stock surfaces before I epoxy it.

Also another issue I noticed is in area where wood stock normally have the cross pin (just behind the mag), the tapco stock caves outward and leaves about 1/8" gap on both side of the receiver. Has anyone tried to fit a original stock cross pin on the tapco stock?

It might help to use a 1/8" or smaller drill bit in your dremel and drill a series of holes into your bedding area to create mechanical lock for the epoxy. I can't confirm whether or not JB Weld will stick to that plastic, but I have successfully bedded "plastic" stocks by making mechanical locks (holes at right angles) and making sure to work in the epoxy with toothpicks before "flooding" the area.

Roughen up the surface, holes are even better. I have done this but I haven’t shot enough rounds to say with confidence that it will hold long term.
You could also epoxy glue your shims. Metal or fridge magnet shims are easy to make and it’s easy to add layers.

To report back, yes epoxy will stick to plastic stock.

I used devcon 10110. Used dremel with pointy tool head to drill mini dents into area I wanted to bed. Used hornady case lube as release agent.

I bedded the rear receiver area and the chamber area. Had to actually do it twice. First time I didn't get enough epoxy in the chamber area so I grind it down a bit and re-epoxy the area. Result is nice fit with no play in the stock.

Taking it to the range, the POI shifts a lot when barrel heats up, I think me bedding the area around chamber is a mistake. I will see if I can bed it the third time to fix this.

Will post some pictures when I get the chance.
