SKS - THE official CGN gun

looking at the firearms forums, we now have an SKS forum. why? is it because SKS get slammed all the time - people need a space to talk about SKS' without insults?

The SKS is first gun on the site to have its own space, guess that means SKS is the official CGN gun!

should we not create one forum for ARs and PE90s and HKs etc... surely they deserve it.

Dont take this reply personally. I dont mind the sks, personally I put it at about the same rating as the M1 carbine. Hell, I almost took one in a trade (took a shotgun instead). If one presents itself in future for a ridiculously low price I might even pick it up.

BUT, just because somehow the sks got its own thread dont ever think that its superior to or compares to my FN's or even my norc M14. Because it doesnt, it rates waaaaay down there with the lowly M1 carbine imo.

I disagree.

The official CGN gun is either the M-305, which has oficially hijacked the MBR forum or the Armco/Nork 1911.

The SKS became a celebrity here because of its affordability.

Many Canadians were introduced to the shooting sports/hunting/plinking and the love of firearms with this modest rifle.

Many became Gunnutz because of it.

Love it or hate it, the SKS has earned its place in the Canadian firearms community.

Mostly right woodchopper. The posts were appearing in too many forums. All SKS posts were supposed to be in the general Milsurp forum. Due to the volume of SKS threads, Badgerdog begged and pleaded to get it it's own sub-forum, so they didn't sully his Swede Mausers.
