sks to accept ak mag

Doe anyone know any gun smith that will mod a standard sks to accept a Ak mag?

thanks

a very competent member have done one and he still had feeding issues .

so when i went looking for mine , i made sure it was not made here .

i suggest you buy one made by norinco from EE.

All the time??

i assume you are asking me if the competent member's conversion had feeding problem "all the time" .

well , he said "severe feeding problem" .

kai: unless you found a smith that specialize in the conversion . i wouldnt hire one , who have not done a few even if he wanted to do it. imho .

Yes . I had "severe feeding problem" because I followed the instructions that were available on the net at that time.
This instructions called for welding a keystock on the front of the magwell to serve as a mag catch. This position being way to low caused the feeding problems. Today I would do it all the way differently positioning the front mag catch about 1/8 to 3/16 higher. The magwell part of the conversion wouldn't be that hard with the proper equipment , the trigger group conversion would be a bit harder but definitely possible in a small hobby shop.
I agree with the suggestion above - get the factory SKS-D !!

heres what i picked up a year ago from EE .

a sweeet looking "D" for about $350 so if you bot a reg SKS for $200 plus $40 for the banana mag , you need to find a smith that will do the conversion for less than $110 .... fat chance .

i was gonna restore the wood to its orginal blond but the color is starting wear on me .
