SKS trigger group problems

Hey guys, the other day when I was cleaning my chinese SKS something happend to the safety lever. Befor it would flick up and down like it should have but now it just kinda dangles and doesn't stay in safe or fire position. I dont think any springs or anything fell out when I disasembled it, I looked around the bench and couldn't find anything left over, I've cleaned it several times befor and have never had this problem. Any ideas?

What? No why would I do that to clean it? I removed it from the stock, set it aside and after I cleaned and reasembled the rifle thats what the safety latch was doing.

There is a flat safety spring which is prone to breakage. In Russian usage, when this happened they peened the safety so that friction would hold it in position.

Try Lever Arms for a replacement before you look further.

might be onto something, but for a $200 rifle and about 25c a round I'll deal with the inacuracy and odd dilema.

and if lever doesnt have one then order it from marstar , its part number 044.
