I just had an idea and I figure there is a simple way. The SKS is a popular rifle throughout the world for a plethora of reasons. It's major drawback is that it doesn't have a linear stock, causing a rotational force upwards after each discharge, pivoting at the receiver due to the angle of the stock towards the shoulder. A stock designed to seat an SKS receiver would be ideal, but current laws in Canada prohibit such devices. However, if a receiver were designed based on the SKS but can only fire as a bullpup (ie. integrated stock) it would be a variant and be given its own certificate. It could still use the original SKS mag or take non-duckbill mags, be fed from a stripper, deflect the spent cartridges out a tube from the front, have a flat-top 1913 rail without any sights, and quad rail in the front. Could even convert the SKS bolt to be contained and non-reciprocating. The ejection tube could have a latch to open the rear of the tube for incline/decline shooting..
Similar in appearance to a M17S or TAR-21. And it would be designed, manufactured, distributed, and exported all in Canada. Possibly taken up by different manufacturers... competition is good.
