Hey guys so I own both ends of the sks production line 1950. And 1957.
Now I know after 1950 they changed the firing pin style to a free floating but I thought they left it at that.

I noticed there is 2 styles to the recoil spring and I'm not to worried about swapping one or the other in my guns, more curios to figure out why they changed them.

In the 1950 they have the recoil spring with a relatively " flat" end on the spring. (Click the photo in the link to blow it up)

And in the 1957 they have the larger style with a groove. ( in the photo is the later style )

It may be just a redesign . Or maybe for a reason if anybody has knowledge please share on this topic
