Hey all. Which is your favorite supplier of aftermarket SKS accessories? I'm thinking I would like one of those cheap ventilated handguards, but I'd also like to see what else is easy to order here in Canada.
thx

There's nothing cheap about those handguards. The only place I've found for them is in the states. By the time you pay postage and exchange and if you are unlucky, duty or at least the custom inspection charge to open it up and decide not to charge you duty just the 5 dollar charge, you're up to near 30 -40 bucks. Then most of the dealers down there don't want to ship here due to american customs sending it back to the seller even before it gets to Canada. You can get a bipod , flash hider, scope mount, stock.....it goes on forever. So if you find a u s dealer, see if you get everything at once. have fun!!

emmab, im still looking for the same, contacted a few sellers in the US but they wont ship to canada.

found a seller that would but he doesnt have the vented HG so i bot the front sight tool US$6 and a sks butt pad US$6 plus shipping US$7....well, that was 3 weeks ago since the seller said he shipped it , i havent received it and the seller (with clean record) havent either so you can bet it got stuck at customs so here we wait to see which custom it got stuck at.

Is this the one you're talking about?

does numrich have a mininum shipping charge ?? if so, it may not be worth it.

i also noticed numrich price ($11.25) is almost twice the price on ebay ($6).

Yes true but, Ive noticed many cheap things on ebay, but if you look at what some of those bone heads charge for shipping is astronomical  I remember one thing Ive seen on there was about $10 bux, The fools wanted $45.00 USD to ship it to Canada. They must dream up the shipping costs instead of using a postal calculator. But I guess its how bad you want it.

Usually when I order from Numrich I get a few things so shipping isnt bad.

Hi T. that's about the standard time. Did you try buymilsurp? I tried bestbuy and couldn't get it up here and they were nice enough to refund my money despite mailing them. You'll have to bite the bullet because most ebay dealers won't bother with us up here. I guess I was lucky. I got all my stuff off ebay, but that was last year.

hi p, thanks for the tip on buymilsurp.com , its a great site but i found them too expensive, the vented HG was more expensive than numrich, it was US$15 plus 8-10 for shipping, that would be almost C$30, a bit pricey for stamped sheet metal that doesnt improve accuratecy, haha.

i wont bite the bullet yet, i will keep searching for that small vendor thats willing to ship across the line.

hi P, thats funny.

my kid turned 16 last saturday.

i finally received the front sks tool and sks butt pad from the US, it took 3 weeks. if any member are interested in the tool and pad and cant find a seller that will to ship north then email me and i will give you the info....... happy camper T

Well I'm glad you got your stuff. The sight tool is a good thing but is kind of weak. Just a reminder that the front sight barrel that moves for windage is staked. You should give it a whack with a drift to get it moving or it will be very hard to do with the sight tool. I bent the elevation adjustment tool on the end the first time I used it just trying to raise the front post. I cut a slot, that fits over the front post, into a stainless bolt with a 9/16 head and use that with a wrench

Or simply aim a little to the left or right depending on where the point of aim is on that day. :D

I really got my wind age tool just to adjust the height of the front sight, of course I bought it at a gun show so I got hosed on the price, but I had to have it at the time.

Them ventilated hand guards look pretty cool.
Do they go on as easy as the milspec ones?
